Ellen J. Hirvela*

Ms. Hirvela was admitted to the California Bar in 1993. Before that, she was a Family Support Officer with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Child Support Division, for 12 ½ years. During that time, Ellen gained a working knowledge of the child support program.  While working for District Attorney, Michael D. Bradbury, she received the Employee of the Year Award in 1990.

Ellen received the American Jurisprudence award in Criminal Law while attending Ventura College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate of Law Degree. 

Ms. Hirvela is also a member of the Ventura County Bar, the Los Angeles County Bar and the American Bar Association. Her practice has focused exclusively on family law issues, particularly child custody and child support.  She has successfully represented clients in all types of family law cases in the Los Angeles and the Ventura County courts. Ellen Hirvela is also an experienced Mediator.  She earned her Certificate from UCSB Negotiation, Mediation, and Conflict Management Program.  She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, “ACR.” And, she is a Board Member of the Coalition for Collaborative Divorce, “CCD,” a nonprofit interdisciplinary association of professionals promoting peaceful and cooperative “reorganization” for families facing divorce.
